A Painter Paints
I heard said once that a writer writes. I suppose that is probably true. I also heard a painter say recently that if a person gets into painting, they will paint on anything. Well, I really enjoy my newfound pastime, and painting is not an inexpensive hobby. I’m running very short of canvases recently. In fact, I think I only have one left, and probably won’t be able to afford any more for a couple of weeks, so I have proven to myself that what that painter said was absolutely true. I have been looking for something to paint on for the last week or so. As it happens, the door to our bedroom is right at the end of the hall, and it is usually standing open so it can be seen from the living room. I had painted it dark green before we moved in, but it kept looking more and more like a canvas all week. I had this vision of an oak tree growing on it, and I had developed the picture as much as I could in my head, so today I decided to do it. I am pretty pleased with the result, and Sheri likes it even more than I do, so she’s looking for more walls in the house that need murals. I’m actually thinking more like doing something outside. If I come up with anything, I’ll post it here. Oh, and I almost forgot; I did my first western painting earlier in the week. It didn’t turn out as well as I’d hoped, but it was better than I had feared! So here are my latest.
I’m also posting a picture of one of our fuchsia baskets…my favorite!
